KECH

 Historical

Kech is a district in Balochistan, at the distance of 770 km from Quetta and is accessible via Kalat and turn left from Surab and following Panjgur Road N85. The Kech River is the main river in the district, which flows along the Makran region and joins with the Dasht River in Gwadar. There are number of orchards along the river, so area is famous for fresh fruits and vegetables, specially dates.

Koh-e-Murad is a sacred place of Zikri sect, where a shrine is also located. Turbat is also considered as a home of Punnu, a character in romantic story of Sassi Punnu. The remains of his fort is still there. There is also a lake called Koh-e-Imam Lake, which a large size water reservoir. There are also centuries old tombs on Koh-e-Imam.

Dasht National Park and Wild Life Sanctuary is palce to protect wild animals and different kind of birds in Kech along the Dasht River

AWARAN

AWARAN (BALOCHISTAN)

Awaran is situated in the south of the Balochistan Province and is located at the distance of 725 km from Quetta city. It is accessible via Khuzdar on Regional Coorperation for Development Highway N25 and moving on Makran Coastal Highway at Zero Point. Its old name was Kolwa and one of the poorest district in the Balochistan.

Awaran is famous for its oasis of dates which produce more than 15,000 tons per annum. Wheat and Barlay are other main crops of the district.

BARKHAN (BALOCHISTAN)

 Historical

Barkhan is located at the distance of 418 km from Quetta city via Loralai on the National Highway N70. Barkhan has hot summers whereas winters become mild.

Its landscape consists of plains, valleys and mountains having average elevation of 1,000 to 2,100 meters. Barkhan is the main valley and other small valleys separated by hills. Rakhni stream is the main stream which collects water from the surrounding hills. Other important streams are Han and Bala Dhaka. Another valley in the district is Kharcha valley which is bounded by Phulai range and the Sukha Range. The hills in Barkhan are in the Suleman Range, in which Kala Pahar is the highest hill. Some other important hills in the district are Karwada, Bibar, Jandra, Mukhmar, Sukha, Phulai, Khawaj, etc. The stucture of hills is mixture of earth sand and stones and rocky. Due to its land structure, it is an homeland of different wild animals, birds and reptiles

.

Awaran has rich resources of coal, oil and gypsum. The importance of this district is due to the discovery of first dinosaur fossils in Pakistan by Geological Survy of Pakistan.

 

GAWADAR

GWADAR (BALOCHISTAN)

Gwadar is a deep water port city in Balochistan on its southwestern coast on the Arabia Sea at the distance of 1377 km from Lahore.

The climate of Gwadar is hot desert like, but due to sea, tempature remains moderate in Gwadar as compare to other hot areas of Pakistan.

Gwadar is located on a hammerhead-shaped peninsula, curved in a way, that forms two semicurcular bays on its both sides. The western bay is shallow, whereas other is deep water harbor, which is called Gwadar Port.

Gwadar is very important sea port, all countries above Pakistan such China, Afganistan, Russia and other Russian States, have to use this port for their trade to other countries, that would increase the foreign reserves of Pakistan.

 

JHAL MAGSI

 Agriculture

Jhal Magsi is situated at the distance of 266 km from Quetta City and is accessible from Quetta-Jacobabad Road to right side on Jhal Magsi Road. In British regime, it was part of the Kalat state. Its landscape is like desert with rocky low mountain ranges. The climate of Jhal Magsi is hot in summer whereas mild in winter.

 

JAFARABABD

JAFARABAD

 Historical

Jafarabad is located on the border of Sindh province at the distance of 290 km from Quetta city and is accessible via sibi on Quetta-Jacobabad Highway. Its name is derived after Mir Jaffar Khan Jamali, who was a leader in Muslim League before independence of Pakistan and was a close friend of quaid-e-Azam, founder of Pakistan.
